Thursday- forest fire smoke in the air the entire way to Pullman.
Dinner @ Rants & Raves Brewing in Moscow with RA & D.
Ordered a 'Duckface Blonde' beer and for food : 'Portuguese Meatballs', both yummy.
Friday- morning bike ride. Started by going east on the Pullman - Moscow trail.
After a bit, turned around and rode downtown, stopped at a coffee shop for a break.
5-pm .. drove and parked downtown for festival fun. Had a small cup from the
World's Largest Bowl of Lentil Chili!
We bought some dinner from a vendor and listened to some live music. Returned to
RA & D's and sat out on the deck to enjoy the nice evening.
Saturday- 8am, drove over to the Moscow Farmer's Market. David and I enjoyed some
coffee and sweet pastries while RA browsed many booths and bought several bags of fresh
vegetables. Afterwards, a trip to the Co-op resulted in fresh breads and other essentials.
Unloaded goodies at home and returned downtown to watch the GRAND PARADE.
What fun! Weather was pleasant, kids lined the first rows on both sides of the street in
anticipation of the entrants handing out candies. Roller derby teams, dancers, tractor,
politicians (it's an election year), ladder fire truck, ambulance, police car, policemen on bikes,
equestrian queen and princess courts, special decorated floats, and the final groups were
the marching band from WSU and several of the athletic teams, i.e. tennis, volleyball,
basketball, and football players.
Sunday- went to church with RA&D. pastor welcomed returning and new students to the
service. Afterwards, we were treated by church volunteers to ice cream sundaes!
The ice cream was from Ferdinands! (WSU dairy science facility) Huckleberry was yummy!
Went home and watched some of the final round and was rooting for Univ. of Washington's
4-time all-american CT Pan. But, alas, tied for the lead at -20 on the tee on No.18, he
couldn't quell his internal 'voices' and proceeded to hit his drive out-of-bounds! Tied for 2nd.
Wonderful dinner at the Lodgepole in Moscow.
WHAT A FUN LENTIL FESTIVAL visit with Ruth Ann & David!
