Korea - a jam-packed day !
What an adventurous, visual and delicious day! It all started with a trip to the
'weekend' market. This was a .. farmer's market, flea market, and garage sale ..
all rolled into one! Stalls and blankets and tables of goods were everywhere!
Probably 400-500 vendors selling anything and everything. Antiques Roadshow
would have had a field day with a lot of these ancient Asian treasures.
Here's Jon and Salli before heading downhill.
Here's some pic's of part of .. "Hwanghak" market :
different tasty morsels, and watched some school girls giggling and trying to eat a bowl
of octopus - all cut up and still squiggling around !
Then we took a taxi to the new arena and looked around inside. They were getting ready
for a wheelchair basketball game. The real reason was because it was close to a very
famous Seoul bakery ("Taegeuk Dang") and Jon and Salli loved their ice cream sandwiches.
Then it was time to get home for a rest and nap before Salli's GrandMa's birthday
celebration and for me to meet the whole family. We drove to the restaurant and they
had a separate room for all of us.
Salli's mom and dad, her sister, her GrandMa and GrandPa, three uncles and three aunts.
What a fun meal. Then cake and presents afterwards. Salli's Dad made a cute video
of this dinner .. see and [click (twice) on the arrow.. and make it 'full' screen] below :
