Korea - Namsan Tower & skylift
After breakfast, while Salli worked from home, Jon & I drove to Namsan Tower.
A gorgeous morning, 70-deg, light puffy clouds. Jon paid for skylift tickets and we
rode the tram up to the tower platform.

Jon showed me a special feature of this spot. Following is text from special website :
Love padlocks at N Seoul Tower
N Seoul Tower is one of the iconic symbols of Seoul. This place has now become a popular date spot for couples. Like the Pont Neuf bridge in Paris, couples head to the tower to lock their "padlock of love" onto the railing and to dream that their love will last forever.
Here's some pictures I took :
Wow! What fantastic views of Seoul and it's surrounding mini cities!
In the picture above, you can see the Han River, where we picnic'd on Sunday.
Here's a picture of the tower, which we didn't pay extra $ to ride the elevator up to the top.
We bought 'iced' Americano's (yes you DID read 'iced' ..!) and sat at several viewpoints
located around the platform. Weekday mornings are the time to go! I think the
platform, or top of the mountain, can hold 5,000 plus. Jon showed me how to take a
video, which I took on the tram ride down. I had to use it as a YouTube video ..
make it [full screen] .. you may want to stopor pause it before it gets to the end ..
otherwise another YouTube video may be played .. sorry, I'll get better at this -

When we got to the bottom, Jon took me to a Michelin-recommended restaurant a short
hike back up the hill, "Mokmyeok Sanbang", where they served traditional "bibimmap",
means - stirred food in a bowl, featuring : brussels sprouts soup, red bean (spicy!) paste,
rice & shredded beef, mushrooms, spinach, roots, other veggies, then a side dish called
"pajeon" .. a parsley pancake with shrimp, octopus, squid, and oysters .. yummmy!
This is a picture of the ingredients before we stirred them altogether in the copper bowl.
You may get the idea that I'm on this trip to .... eat and blog ! No, this is 'normal' when
you visit relatives in Korea. COME and ENJOY !
We came home and Salli was still busy working, marketing, and selling. We tried to stay
out of her way. Jon and I hiked down the hill to a grocery store to get pasta for dinner.
After dinner, we all went to the recent movie success in Korea, "Searching". That is,
until .. "Crazy Rich Asians" comes to Korea! ..which I saw last week ..funny rom-com !
Another fun day! I think my digestive system is getting used to ... Korean 'delights'.
Hope you're enjoying my posts. We're all looking forward to Jon's hockey tourney
in Okinawa, Japan on Thur-Sun. We plan on visiting their famous aquarium and
enjoying their many beaches.
Wow, what a view! Can't believe how little smog there is! And all the food! Matt is jealous of all the Korean food you're getting to have!
