Day-13 New Orleans - WWII Museum
Last day in 'nawleens'. Walked several blocks to a cafe for breakfast. Jon and Salli called from Korea on my walk. They were checking on me. They are working on a collage or album of their trip to France for Salli's cousin's wedding. They'll let us know when they're ready to share. Afterwards, I secured a LYFT ride down to the museum.
But, before my ride, I took a few more 'traditional' trip pic's :
Then- on to this famous museum!
Picked the right day to be inside. It rained several times during the day. I think all of the tourists
thought the same thing, but not until later in the day! It was sparse for the first 3-1/2 hours!
It starts with a simulated train ride where they explain how to use your 'dog tag' card.
I used my card at many kiosks throughout the exhibits. You can follow what I selected by going to :
DogTagExperience.org and putting in my no. 2100404DBE and logging in to look and listen to my
museum experience and follow this soldier's journey. Look at my 'collection' items also. Have fun!
Hope you enjoy some photos I took ... I really liked some of the personal stories :

Definitely a full-day museum! Several buildings. I didn't pay for a number of offered special movies that they show throughout the day. I knew that just getting through the exhibits was challenging.
It's a sobering experience. It's surprising that man is not capable of learning from history. We tend to forget about the horrors of war and keep plunging into more conflicts.
We should all become tourists and enjoy learning about other people and cultures and enjoy delicious local foods and music! I've sure been enjoying learning about the history of each of the areas on my trip. I loved history classes all through school. Santa Fe and San Antonio and New Orleans have such rich histories! and .. to see buildings still standing ! and .. in many cases still being used !
On to ... Tallahassee tomorrow, getting closer to ... CAPTIVA !
not sure how far north the hurricane affected roads ..
