Day-4 Denver Afternoon Tea & Evening HOCKEY

It's only fitting to take a break from this trip's physical and stunning landscapes and watching a
physical sport, that we enjoy a more relaxing and 'refined' activity such as a traditional English
Afternoon Tea.    Today we traveled to Denver.
Jessie reserved a table at The Denver Tea Room & Coffee Salon ..Ruth Ann- these pic's are for you.
When Ruth Ann and David and Mary and I traveled to Sweden and England several years ago,
we really enjoyed Afternoon Tea in London and at Betty's Tea Room in York.  You should too!

Here we are .. ready for tea and goodies :

Jessie had creamy Earl Grey (black) tea, Marty had peach tea, and I had 'Night of the Iguana'
tea (black) .. it had a chocolate flavor.   We had a creamy butternut squash soup to start.
On the three layers of the tower :  herb cucumber sandwich, roast beef & horseradish cheddar
on a freshly baked roll, spinach tomato crustless quiche, cream scone, protiferole with spiced
cream filling, salted caramel apple bar, and .. carrot cake cupcake!     all .. so yummmmy !

Afterwards we went to the Denver Art Museum's 'free' day.   1st floor was full of Rembrandt's.
2nd and 3rd floors were a mix of animal and Indian and Native Indian art.    Very neat !

Diagonally opposite to the art museum were some interesting buildings :

And, to top off this fun day, we went to south Denver and the University of Denver's Magness
Arena to watch the Pioneers play the University of Alberta Golden Bears.

The Alberta Golden Bears are members of the Canada West Universities Athletic Association.
Based in Edmonton, Alberta, the Golden Bears are largely comprised of student-athletes from
the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), encompassing the Western Hockey League (WHL),
Ontario Hockey League (OHL), and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).

Alberta enters it's 106th season after winning the 2018 National Championship, the program's
record-setting 16th title.    The Golden Bears will play Air Force on Sunday.
A side-note : the Univ. of Alberta's women's teams (incl. hockey!) are known as the Pandas.

Jessie's efforts in buying tickets resulted in 'Gold Club' privileges!    We enjoyed 2nd floor special
treatment, including a large spread of beef tenderloin, vegetables, fruits, breads, cupcakes,
popcorn, etc.   Not bad for about .. $12 a ticket!   What a treat.    Pioneers won 6-4.

What a fun (and long) day!    ...   tomorrow :  "  ...  so on the seventh day, ... he rested .. "
