Day-5 Ft.Collins, Johnstown SCHEELS, Loveland

Sunday -  slept in.   It's been a crazy first 4-days of this crazy-long road trip!
Jessie made a yummy breakfast of potatoes, pancakes, and sausages.   While we enjoyed our coffee
and finished our food, we discussed what to do today.

1st-  a 'destination' shopping trip to SCHEELS in Johnstown.    What a CRAZY monstrous store!!
This is a new location for Scheels.   Started in 1902 by German immigrant Frederick A. Scheel
in Sabin, Minnesota.    Now in  .. 27 locations and 13 states.    These unbelievable sports and
outdoor stores include aquariums, a HUGE indoor Ferris wheel, hundreds of stuffed animals,
and much, much more!       Here's Jessie & Marty outside :

Here's my first glimpse of the Ferris wheel :

This store's departments : footwear, fishing, archery, guns, snowmobiling, bowling, hockey,
kayaking, stand-up paddle boards, hammocks, bike shop, golf, house wares, toy department,
darts and pool, etc., etc., etc.  were each large enough to be their own store !!

Fun, fun store!!    Visit a Scheels when you get a chance.   RA- don't let David see this store,
it has a HUUUUGE knives dept.!!   It's a Tri-State, Cabelas, Big5, and Dick's made into one!

We needed to come back to reality and get lunch, so we went to old town Loveland and ate
at a very neat restaurant called Henry's Pub.    Here's Jessie & Marty in front :

I had a thick slice of buffalo meatloaf topped with a sunny side up egg, cheddar cheese and
Rado's Red Ale gravy, served on a buttermilk biscuit with vegetable slaw on the side.  Yummy!

Afterwards, we went to a movie, "Small Foot".     Cute, cute, cute !!

A fun 3+ days in Ft.Collins !!    Thanks Jessie & Marty for showing me a lot of fun, food, and
hockey!!     Next stop : ALBUQUERQUE .. oh dark thirty Monday morning .. to get through
Denver traffic,  maybe stop at the Air Force Academy .. and, of course, any other historical
signs and places.

  2. This is Kathy in Albuquerque (ABQ as we spell it): I’ve been reading this blog about what you’ve been eating and I feel like I need to balance things out with salads and veggies. Be afraid. See you very soon!
